Hello all,
Fellow Canadians, I came across a pet pharmacy tonight

www.petsdrugmart.ca

They carry all the supplies (insulin, syringes, lancets etc) at 20-50% less than what I paid for my first supplies at the vet. They don't carry human GM's but those are easy to find.

For example, I paid $64.50 for 100 syringes that come with a built in sharps container (the vet will dispose of them) - this website has same container for $44.45. My Prozinc at vet was $129. and at petsdrugmart.ca it is $95.33.

So there's that and my question is how do you deal with your spent syringes? Where do they need to be taken and is there a charge? (as noted above, my first container is taken care of)

i've used petsdrugmart in the past.

check on your municipality's hazardous waste website. mine told me that even a large pop bottle was fine.

You can buy needle clippers at the people pharmacy to remove the needle part. I also got for free a sharps container at a people pharmacy and they would take my full one and give me a new empty one in return. Vets will take them as well but not sure they'd supply a new container.

Waving right back at you!
I just discovered that Shoppers Drug Mart will take them (I am in Toronto and all the Shoppers' near me will take them). Yay. and as @Wendy&Neko pointed out, the drugstore will provide the container.
