Hello All,

Back in 2010 Bubba did suffer from this with hind leg weakness. Not walking on his hocks yet on the kitchen floor his hind legs would slip like he's ice skating. :( I have noticed that he does have some weakness again in his legs and wish I knew there was treatment as it never completly cleared the first time.

I see that its Methyl B12 that helps this. Some get the shots, some put it in their water.
Question- How do you know how much they should take? Is it based on weight?
If you put it in their water and another cat in the house drinks that water , could it harm that cat?

How do you all go about this? I want to address this as quickly as I can.
I know the main thing is to get his diabtes under control. Yet, this problem never fully went away from the first time.

Any help is appreciated.

There is a methyl-B12 product that has been formulated specifically for diabetic cats - Zobaline. Many of the other varieties that are available will have sugar or some starch in them so are not ideal for a diabetic. This one is fine.

The 3mg pill can be crushed into food. As with all B-vitamins, this is water soluble. What that means is that you can't take too much. Whatever your cat's body doesn't need will be excreted.

Gobbles has a mild case of neuropathy. I started him on Xobaline but found out there is a form of that supplement especially formulated for cats -- Zobaline. The Xobaline has fructose in it, and possibly a ingredient that may be toxic to cats.

Here is where I buy mine: It is $19.74 for 60/3 mg. tablets http://www.ilifelink.com/zobaline-f...0&search_string=zobaline&search_category_id=0

Last time I ordered it, I used Priority Mail for shipping, and got it in 3 days.

I give Gobbles his pill when I feed him wet food -- I just give him a small amount of food and hide the pill in it--he always eat the food including the pill. Hope this helps. Also, there are several articles on neoropathy--if you haven't already read same, let me know and I'll get the links for you.

I was giving Gobbles the Xobaline and wish I would have known a few months ago about Zobaline!

I give PurrFace ZOBALINE. I crush two 3mg tablets and sprinkle them on his food. Since some sticks to the side of the vial I crush them in I figure he's getting about 5mg. Once or twice one of our cats got his food with it and they're fine. If you place an order with LifeLink it might take a few day longer. I ordered some a week ago and didn't receive it in the normal 3 days so I emailed them. They said they ran out but were in the process of making another batch and it would ship shortly. No complaints because they have always been very responsive.

PF has shown some improvement since he started it about 3 months ago.

Zener had pretty bad neuropathy. We started him on 3 mg of zobaline (1 pill per day) and he slowly and gradually got better. Now he walks normally.

Thank you all so much for the info. I am getting them. I feel so bad for him. He is still jumping but only on the bed.
Poor baby.

Get or make steps to make it easier for any cat that has neuropathy! this way they can get up to where they want with ease...
Moonie has had neuropathy for 5 yrs, it started out mild, & as we had her more regulated it did improve somewhat--But now that she is older, it has regressed, but she gets around great--She was able to jump anywhere she wanted, now she needs steps.
I gave her xobaline for a long time, and that helped..She has arthritis too..
The more regulated your kitty gets, there will be improvement in her neuropathy..
It is a condition that can greatly improve...
