Diabetic friendly hairball treatment

I'm trying to find a remedy for the increased number of hairballs that LT is throwing up. Tonight it came up with a lot of brown fluid; smelled liked food. He ate his whole meal and feels fine now, but I'd like to find a treatment that won't raise his BG or interfere with food absorption. I'm looking at Vet's Best Hairball Relief as a possibility. I"m open to any and all suggestions.

Vet's Best is what I've been using for my diabetics. In fact it was recommended on this board many years ago because it doesn't affect sugar and doesn't contain petroleum. The tablets are huge but easily break apart and the cats like it as a treat.
