Hi, All,

Here is my post on TR: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=66613

1. I'm afraid to clean his teeth. My vet said that he has seen too many old cats die just a few months after a cleaning.
2. when we were at he vet in early March, his gums looked much, much better than they do now. He had only one spot that looked bad, and the vet said it wasn't really serious. Now, his entire mouth is red.
3. Does anyone have any information about this dentist/vet listed below? His website says he works on zoo animals, too.

Sorry Dale, I actually have no experience with dental cleaning. But I see that you've gotten a ton of responses in the TR forum so you should be ok! :)

Thanks, Lil,

The vet I saw today said he loads the cat up on fluids before, during, and after, and that he isn't aware of having lost an old cat from teeth cleaning.

Actually, I don't have a lot of responses on that issue over on TR. Everytime I edit the post, it looks like someone responded to me. However, there is there is some procedure for making sure it's as safe as possible, and people are trying to find it for me. Maybe it had a lot to do with what the vet said.
