ok you know mr b has neuropathy in hind legs. He had a bit of a messy poo last night. I cleaned him all up but i'm a little concerned because he even had it around his penis pouch. Is there a risk of uti now? Anyone have this happen? Thanks

There is probably some risk, but as long as you cleaned him up right away I would think it would be minimal. Just keep an eye on him and be alert over the next few weeks for any symptoms of a UTI. :bighug:

Poor boy it happened during the night and he had kitty litter stuck to him too. I dont know how long he was like that. I'll be keeping my eye on him. He's peeing all the time these days with high BG so not sure what to watch for really!

Poor Mr. B!
I know, with Squallie, if he gets a UTI his appetite drops off and his BG starts to go up. He also lets it be known that he doesn't feel well, but ECID.

Dre is a unusual boy.... he loves his mama a little too much :rolleyes:
He enjoys his butt cleaned and he mounts my arm regularly .... whatever makes him happy and it is a nice arm massage!;)
Well, now... there ya go! My total laugh for this day and it was a good one! Thanks for the picture I now have in my mind. :D (Still giggling and will be for a while.) Hannah sometimes has little mishaps like this, as she also has neuropathy. She, however, doesn't get turned on by my attempts at cleaning her up... thank goodness! But the next time I'm cleaning her butt, I'm sure gonna be thinking of this post. :smuggrin:

Now I am cracking up:joyful::joyful:
I think Dre has some hormone imbalance.... it doesn't take much and often it takes nothing..... he is 16 and has always been this way???
He is so polite he bites a blanket or whatever is nearby instead of my wrist so he doesn't hurt me.... such a polite kitty:cat:
I wish I could train him to push his paws in my back:smuggrin:

Squallie would do this before he was neutered. Since he was neutered all he does is stare at me and furiously knead the sofa, bed, whatever. The stare is a little unnerving, lol, sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and he is standing over me or next to me, just staring intently!

stalker!:eek:
Dre was neutered at 6 months (too young for my liking but not my choice)
Dre stares too..... :bighug:

I dropped off urine sample for a culture this morning. I dont see any signs of a uti, but i want to be sure he's ok.

If you started collecting the urine stream when it started it will be contaminated. If it was a mid-stream catch it is OK but not the best

What can i say? The vet said collecting that way was good. Didnt specify when during stream to start collecting. The main concern is e coli due to the incident that started this thread.
