So if you are following my tale, Guinness my 2 year OTJ cat recently made a trip to the water bowl yesterday. I haven't seen him physically drink water since I switched him to wet food at the beginning of our diabetes saga. He's always been a big pee-er, even when regulated. But, since yesterday I have noticed that his pees are surprisingly small (not blocked small, just smaller than normal) and today he hasn't really peed at all. He usually pees 2 or more times in a day. I'm at work now, so I can't obsessively watch his litter box habit, but my mommy intuition is suspecting possible dehydration. My question is would the spiked BG (351 yesterday before his dinner) cause this or maybe something else going on in his body, like maybe an infection? He's not showing any physical signs of being severely dehydrated (no loose skin, sunken eyes, etc) and he's still eating great (I'm also adding extra water to his food). We have an appointment with the vet on Friday afternoon. Just looking for ideas before I make it to the vet on Friday. Thank you for any ideas in advance.
