I didn't post yesterday or Saturday night because I had no internet.
DC was low all Saturday night. I wish I would have been able to get some input from all the great people on the board.
I fed HC numerous times through the night on Saturday.
I suspect the blues yesterday morning are from all the HC and maybe a bit of a bounce from the low BG.
Yesterday he was a bit high, but not too bad considering.
At AM +3.5 yesterday he got into some dog food kibble. Not sure how much he ate.
At least he only went into the yellow.
This morning he was right back to the green.
I'm guessing DC is almost ready for a dose reduction.
I keep wondering where the numbers would have gone on Saturday night without all the HC I fed him.
He ate a whole 5.5 oz can throughout the night.
He is doing well and all P's are in place.
He's not happy I won't let him eat our friends cats EVO kibble.
Other than that, he's doing good.
We should be going home tomorrow or Wednesday.

Hi Noreen. That's a green AMPS alright.
Safe travels to you. I didn't know you were away. And you brought DC with you. How did that go? Sorry, if I'm not up to date on all the happenings.
Good luck with the new dose, if that's what you decide to do.

DC loves to go for car rides and he likes to come to are friends with us.
These are the friends that look after the cats when we go away.
Their daughter who is 14 likes to help with the BG tests and shots.
DC used to go for rides on the motorcycle with us at one time too.
As for the dose reduction, I think I will wait it out until he actually hits a BG of 40.
Hopefully next time he goes low I'll have internet access to get some input before I feed him the HC.
I'm still not sure if I should have fed it to him or waited to see what the BG would have dropped to.
My main concern was that he hadn't reached nadir yet and I didn't know how fast the BG would drop once he did.

i was just curious, were u afraid not to give him HC?
we had a week like that couple weeks ago, and all Luna did was surf the 50's even with HC gravy ohmygod_smile have to admit thou, I was too chicken to see him in the 40's  even oldbies get chicken too!
but anyway, you did great over the weekend and not too much of affect with the little bit of kibble he may of gotten into.
you could try some MC foods next time, track and see how that fairs,,,check the food charts, you might have some on hand either way.

anywho, get home safe and sound!

OMG, I am the biggest oldbie chicken
Though, I'm not saying you are. I'm saying I am. :-D
I guess, if you were there to monitor, you could have started with MC and then tried LC, but that's hindsight.
You did good, and everything is fine.

On a motorcycle!?! I would love to see a picture of that.

It was the middle of the night and I had already taken a sleeping pill, so I was worried that I might not be able to stay awake.

I have lots of MC food at home, but all I packed to bring with me was HC.

I wish I had pictures. When DC's brother first passed, DC wouldn't stay by himself.
He had never been alone. When I first got him, I took him and his brother. His brother passed away just before his 9th birthday.
Everytime we left to go on the motorcycle he would crawl into my jacket.
I would just leave him in the jacket and zip it up. He would stay there and we would go for a ride.
While we were driving he would tuck his head into the jacket and each time we came to a stop he would peek out and look around.
That was spring and summer of 2006.

Re: DC AMPS=68

ok thanks for replying Noreen, that's good enough!
that's pretty cute DC riding a motorbike - but it's great he gets to travel with you! That's a bonus!
Have a good nite!
