So Tuna went poop this morning and had dark greenish diarrhea. It wasn't bright green, it just had a hue of dark green in it. I imagine it's from running out of wet DM so I couldn't slowly switch to tikicat. I'm keeping an eye on him, he seems sleepy today but I had him outside (under my view he never was 3 feet away from me) for almost 3 hours yesterday. I know 100% he didn't eat any grass when we were outside. I have a picnic blanket for us that we lay on so no grass was even under him. It's my attempt of exercise for him lol. But yeah, google says bright green diarrhea is bad and he should go to the vet immediately, but it was dark green, like barely even green. If I didn't have another cat poop to compare it to I doubt I would have noticed anything amiss. What do you think?

A change of diet can upset some cats tummies. How is he now? And how is his appetite?
He gobbled up my freeze dried salmon treats so it must be the tikicat! He is actually super playful! I set up a long string on one of my fans to spin around my room so he had something to play with all day! I just stayed up until Walmart was open so I could get him fancy feast. I bought him the best wet food I could find and it made him sick of course! :arghh::arghh::arghh:

Actually how many cans of the fancy feast do you think I should feed him per meal if he's 18lbs? I couldn't find a guide on the can or maybe I just wasn't wearing my glasses
Is he a good weight or overweight?
An 18lb cat should be getting approximately 330 calories per day if he is not overweight. Have a look on the cans and see how many calories per can and go from there.

he is overweight :(

also his numbers are crazy today would you mind talking a look? i havent seen numbers like this since he was first diagnosed

The general rule of thumb is about 20 calories per pound of ideal weightweight

So what would be his ideal weight?
Example

If he should weight 16 pounds
20x16=320 calories

If he should weigh 14 lbs
20X14=280 calories

Also can you fill in how many units you gave Tuna this morning

I will tag some members that are familiar with Prozinc to look at your spreadsheet

Thank you ladies

ah yes my fiance has a memory problem with the spreadsheet sometimes lol. when we trade off on watching tuna i normally have to come back and update the SS myself. thank god i have a bluetooth BG meter!

Tiki cat tore my poor Dude up!! I tried to work through it in hope his stomach would get use to it. We have another cat (non diabetic) and it did the same. We quit giving it to them. Ended up going to the store and picking up some floriflora yesterday. Have gave him 2 packets so far and can already tell a difference. We were slowly adding Tiki into their diet and their little stomachs couldn't take it. Back to the chicken feast FF.

Thank you so much for letting me know you went through the same! That calms me down so much

No, it just makes things a little more tricky. You could try 0.25 at night and morning and that may make it shootable each time.
Tuna poop update: he still has diarrhea and is straining so hard little bits of pee come out too. Now I'm worried. I went and got the wet DM food again since he didn't have this problem with that food.

He's straining with diarrhea?

Definitely go back to the food that was ok. But the straining to me is odd...might be worth a call to vet.

unfortunately my vet is way too expensive right now. since i lost my job i blew through all my savings on tunas diabetes and another one of my cats pneumonia. i got the DM and i got some organic pumpkin. im going to give it til tomorrow and if hes still doing this bad ill have to take him to my local low cost vet :/ i drove to 4 pet stores today looking for fortiflora but no one had any.

Welp he just had another diarrhea, and now another cat of mine also has diarrhea. They don't eat the same food...
Anything toxic they could have both consumed?

This link says pumpkin is not good for diarrhea. Have you tried S. Boulardii?

My cat had worms and that gave her diarrhea. We realized when she started dragging her butt on the floor that it could be worms.

If the S. Boulardii doesn't work (try the emergency stop dosage mentioned in the link), you may need Flagyl (Metronidazole), but you'd need a vet's script for that.

I will get the probiotic immediately tomorrow, I can get the vet meds through my fiance's father who will approve it online but I'm sure it'll take days to get to me. I can try to deworm him, WalMart sells prazinquentel (sp?) OTC so I can get that immediately. Is it safe to use the bone broth mentioned in the article for tunas diabetes?

Oops I missed the toxic question, nope. Different foods, ones terrified of everything and lives on my countertop, I even feed him there, where tuna can't jump to even if his life depended on it. Different foods, tunas been in my bedroom with me the past 24 hours so I can see his poops in his own litterbox. Their poops are exactly the same! Lots of mucus, frequent, there's 4 piles in Bentleys box, and I've scooped 2 today from tunas box. There must be something going around my cats. I'm going to disinfect the water bowls as that's the only thing they shared. I have 16 cats, I can't have 16 cats with diarrhea and one with both diarrhea and diabetes :banghead::banghead::banghead:
