Got home this morning from work (12 hour night shift) and when I went to give Ben his shot, I couldn't find his insulin. Low and behold it was in the plastic tote with all his testing supplies. So the bottle of Prozinc was out for about 12.5 hours in a house that was about 65 degrees. Should I call the vet to get a new bottle? :o I gave him his normal dose this morning. He is still not regulated to it would be hard to tell if the insulin has lost some of its efficacy.

The other reason we refrigerate is that the chemicals that prevent bacterial growth may become less effective after the expiration date. Monitor the container for signs of clumping or floaters.
