After looking at the SS earlier, I think going back to 1u would be my advise. I would try to stick with that dose for 2-3 more days to gather the data. If you can run a mini-curve or a normal curve one day this weekend, that would really help you to evaluate what the insulin is doing over the course of a day.

OK, I'll keep an eye on the forum for when you post your next number. +2 or +3 would be a good time to test.

Did a curve for the 1st time since Dx

After a long night full of bonito treats and a lethargic kitty reluctantly being dragged out of sleep every 2 hours. I finally have some information for all you wonderfully encouraging/helpful people! However; this numbers game is getting us down still. I'm currently trying to link the SS to my signature. If that fails, I've posted it here just in case. We dosed at 7pm 1u after getting her normal 5.5oz of Merrick surf and turf at 6:30pm. Her last test was done at 3am. Over the course of the night she did dip in the middle but barely so. At 2:30am she decided to go back to her dish and eat the rest of her dinner, I'm guessing that's what caused the slight spike in BG between +6 and +8. I'm thinking I'll try 1u again tomorrow morning, watching her amps and +3, +6, +9. If it remains the same kind of high pattern with small decrease in the center would it be best to raise her dose or keep her on the 1u for awhile longer? Also, she did test positive for trace amounts of ketones so I am thinking I will try and catch some potty business tomorrow to see if that went away. It could have been caused by her lack of drinking during the night. she really didn't move about until around 2-3am. I just wanted to say thanks in advance, the roller coaster would be a lot more difficult to conquer without all of your input. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AiHOkRPSPdUOdEgwc3lCQWtDbFpzT1RnbXdRYTJENWc

I like staying with one unit for at least another cycle, getting some numbers midcycle. She had a "normal" curve last night although it was high.

Be very careful with the ketones. Does she get water mixed with her food? You might do that to increase her fluid intake. Watch her fluid intake today and make sure she is not dehydrated. (Pull up skin on back - does it sure "snap" back) Get another ketone test and make sure it is stable or going down. Have you seen this info? ketones
