Daily Food Intake

My diabetic Jazpurr weighs 14 and I'd like to get his weight closer to 10-11 lbs. How much of the fancy feast classic pate should I feed him daily? Thx!!

A basic formula for figuring out the number of calories you should feed your kitty is: Required calories per day = [13.6 X optimal lean body weight in pounds] + 70

So using this as a starting point, you should feed 219.6 calories per day (if you want his ideal weight at 11 lbs). The number of calories can vary based on the Fancy Feast flavor, but it would it equal a bit less than 2.5 cans of food per day. 2-3 cans of he's strictly on wet. My big boy who was 17 lbs ate up to 4 cans.
