This antihistamine has worked well as an appetite stimulant for Jake for a while now, but does not seem to work as well as it used to. Should the dosage be increased (he was getting 2mg PRN which worked well) or does it just sometimes quit working after a while?

They are usually 4 mg tablets which you can split and then give 1/2 a.m. and 1/2 p.m. Some start at just a 1/4 of a tab and go from there. I had to give MIshka one so I tried just a 1/4 tablet. If a cow had walked into the room, she would've taken it down to bones ;-) Have you tried using it b.i.d. at 1/2 tab?

I was not sure if you could give Cypro BID on a daily basis so this is good to know. I was also wondering if there are instances when it is no longer effective as an appetite stimulant because kitty has taken it long-term.Thanks!
