Princess is on N so my safe shoot # has been 200, a little lower if I am home to test her throughout the day to check for hypo. Our lives have been crazy the past month or so with an out of state move, so although I have been testing her my ss is a mess. She has been on 0.5u of N and only seems to go in the yellows when getting a shot. Without it she stays in blues. Is her body producing insulin to prevent a hypo. & in result giving higher #'s? I haven't given her ins. the past few days and she seems to stay lower w/out bouncing. She was a former fat cat that has been on a strict wet FF diet since Dec./Jan. (the vet had her on RX dry diabetic). She has lost close to 10lbs. over the years and has not had any other health problems, aside from obesity/diabetes. Should I monitor her #'s without insulin?
thanks

It may be that she can maintain regular levels without insulin, because of the diet change. Our general reference is a cat is considered in remission if they are between 40-120, without insulin, for 2 weeks.

If she's higher than 120 without insulin, you could lower the dose to 0.25 and see if that's enough to put her in good numbers. If she's below 120 without insulin, it's time for an OTJ trial!
