Correlation between appetite and numbers?

Vinnie Van Gogh's Mom

It seems that when Vinnie's appetite is down, his glucose is up. And when he eats more, his numbers are lower. Does anyone know if decreased food intake leads to higher glucose? Or is the decreased appetite simply the result of higher glucose levels in the system?

I've noticed Mocha is like that. When his numbers are low or good then he's naturally hungry. When his numbers are high he doesn't seem to want to eat. He's also being pretty fussy about changing over to wet food so he hasn't eaten nearly as much as he did pre-diagnosis. But I'm happy to see that as his sugars normalize then he eats as he naturally should. I felt like before he was just eating all day long & could never get enough!!

I don't know about you but I'm giving treats every time I test Mocha's blood. Mocha used to have a ravenous appetite. I feel like he spent more time eating than he did sleeping before his diagnosis. And we never gave treats! He just ate his kibble all day long.

Now that he's getting under control he would prefer to just sleep all day (like most cats) and I'm waking him up to check his blood and giving him food at the same time. Which may lead to higher numbers and no real natural appetite!

There's only been a couple days where I'm not testing him like crazy and he seems to act somewhat normal. I almost forgot what that looked like!

I used to give him treats after testing but he really doesn't seem to notice or care about it so I've stopped. And his appetite is definitely not as crazy as it was before the diagnosis. He used to eat about 15 to 18oz of food a day! Now he only seems to need around 10oz a day (he's a big guy).
