CORKY

I clean Corky's and Coco's tooshie with a wet wipe every morning, I noticed this morning 2 very tiny polyp like, like a pimple with a little white on the tip, he's always constipated, is this something to worry about or do cats can get remorids? if someone has some input, it would be appreciated :bookworm::bighug:;):cat::cat:

I’m afraid I have never heard of a cat getting hemorrhoids before. Cats do have anal glands positioned at about 11 o’clock and 2 o’clock on their anus. Sometimes the anal glands need to be expressed by a veterinarian. Have you seen Corky “scooting” his bottom on the ground/carpet? Have you seen him excessively lick that area or bite it or chase his tail? Any foul odor? If there’s swelling in that area it could mean his anal glands are impacted because normally they are small and cannot be seen with the naked eye. I would keep an eye on it. If it doesn’t go away, I would probably have it looked at by a vet because the sacs can rupture and that’s not good (and would require a lot more veterinary intervention, antibiotics, etc.)

Thanks , no none of the above is happening, I’ll keep a close look. Thank you, keep the vet in mind as well:bighug::bighug::cat::cat:

Is there a reason you are using wipes daily? Cats are very good at keeping themselves clean so the only time you should need to do that is if the cat has had diarrhea or is really dirty. Unless the wipes are specifically made for cats, you may be exposing them to ingredients, including fragrances, that are toxic and irritating to their skin but also harmful if they ingest the chemical residues when grooming.

Well I really shouldve Said sometimes, since he does poop sometime a bit so for he cleans himself quite well by at times there’s a little bump that stays the wipes are hypoalergenic no fragrance, and I just take that bit off, he sits in the corner of my bed and stains the sheet I don’t specifically look every time he poops just when I see the stain or on the towel he lays by me on the sofa if you feel I shouldn’t I won’t
Question if his BG is less than 100 do I give him insulin? It might not be the case, but just in case can you advise?:bighug::bighug::cat::cat:

:) You need to be asking this question over on your other thread and not on the hemorrhoid thread. I doubt if he’s going to be less than 100 by 6 o’clock Eastern (more than 4 hours from now.)

Is Corky fluffy? I sometimes have this problem with my long haired cats or foster cats. If they squat too low or if their stool is quite soft sometimes it will get on their fur on the back of their legs, etc. if it becomes a problem, I will clip the fur back there a little shorter - and it helps. I don’t shave it really short like I have seen some people do, but just trim it down. It’s kind of a two person job - to make sure nobody gets hurt because I am using scissors.
