Cooper seems to be adjusting to everything very well. He actually jumps right on his tree whenever I go to his testing supplies or when I go to get his insulin ready.
He also took to the LC diet amazingly. He loves the Fancy Feast classic chicken pate and did not hesitate at the first taste of it. I do hope I’m not feeding him too much or too little.
Since starting the LC diet his urination and water drinking are down significantly(I’m assuming due to the moisture in the food that he is now getting). I’d compare his water drinking habits to what they were before he was diagnosed.
His BG seems to be trending downwards. I was terrified to keep him on the 3.5U when I first started his full LC diet but we are there and his numbers are starting to react to that. I am still just nervous/anxious about what number is too low to shoot as well as when I should reduce a dose.
This forum has been a tremendous help to both of us. I felt so lost and like I wanted to give up but my confidence in handling this has gotten better and cooper is appreciative of everything as well.
