I'm looking for low carb treats to give when doing BG tests. I'm working on rewarding and enticing Sabrina as she now sometimes walks or jogs away from me when she knows it's time, or tries to get away during the process (especially when the first prick is unsuccessful). I recall seeing posts about giving cooked chicken and wonder if it can simply be boiled in water? Or prepared how?

You can poach, roast, broil or grill the chicken. It really doesn't matter. Just don't season it.

There are also freeze dried treats that are pure protein available Many cats like freeze dried chicken.

Thank you. If anyone can share a link to what freeze dried treats they buy, I'd appreciate the help!

I used Purebites. The bag says it's for dogs and it's a larger size (11 oz) than the cat treats. However, if you do the math, the larger bags are cheaper than the cat (2.3oz) product.
