Control Solution expiration?

Hi all,
Hope everyone's having a "controlled" day

I have decided to stick with my Advocate Pet Test meter for the time being. I have the control solution that came with the system and I first used it/opened it in July. Does this expire in a certain amount of time according to when it was opened? I am not at home right now to see if it has an expiration date on it, but I suspect it does. Just wondering if I should go by what might be on the bottle, or go according to when I opened it.

I'm not sure about the advocate pet meter but I know the alphatrak control solution is only good up to 3 months after opening it the first time. I imagine it would be pretty similar with the advocate but maybe you could check the manual if you still have it?
