Constipation?

So I’ve seen that constipation can be an issue when treating diabetes. Since I have three cats it’s sometimes difficult to tell if Tigger actually pooped! Most times it’s obvious, because he never covers it up. And other times one of the other cats covers it for him.... How often should I expect him to go, and when is it a problem. Pre diagnosis he only went once a day. Now it looks like every other day. I’m adding water to his food now. What else can I do to help him?

My guy used to go once a day. Now it's mostly every other day, sometimes every third day. Vet said it normal for 2 days because wet food is more digestable. 3rd day she said maybe give him an 1/8 to 1/4 tsp miralax (2 times if needed) to get him to go.
