After Shenandoah had been on wet food for a while she had a bout with constipation. I added pumpkin to her diet, and everything cleared up. We were all happy and good.
Now here we are a little later, and constipation is back. She's getting Fancy Feast Classics, and each meal is about 1/4 can (3 oz cans, so a bit under 1 oz) with about 1/2 - 3/4 tsp of pumpkin all mashed together. I also usually add about 1/2 tsp of water if it's not a freshly opened can (they seem a little dryer when cold). Generally 6-7 meals/day.
Stuff IS passing through. She'll be at the litter box straining, and then walking around trying to push every few steps, and going into corners, clearly uncomfortable. But then something will come out, and she'll be back to her usual perky self almost instantly.
To me they look pretty normal. Perhaps a little bit on the hard side, but I wouldn't say extremely so. A bit smaller than I'd like.
This has happened a few times in the past several days now.
Is this worth a trip to the vet? Or should I bump up her pumpkin and see if that helps? Or anything else I can do to help her out?
She still has signs of neuropathy, which maybe contributes? Once she went into remission the neuropathy improved significantly, and then on Zobaline for a couple months she was just wobbly, but any progress seems to have halted - I haven't seen any change in the past ~1 month on Zobaline, so the wobbliness is still there.
It breaks my heart when she's struggling and I can't do anything to help her
Thanks all.
