Taco had been taking pepcid acid reducer for vomiting for quite some time and with that I saw that his stool got harder and bigger in circumference. Sorry TMI.

So I stopped giving it to him .He went 9 days without pepcid and his stool softened up.

Then he decided to throw up again so I started him back on the pepcid, except this time only once a day instead of twice.

His stool is harder and bigger again.

He already gets 1/4 tsp miralax twice daily.

Is there anything else I can add to his food that would be safe with his BG?

Any type of oil? Ideas? please

Cindy , I use 2 teaspoons of pumpkin with 1/8 capsule of Pet Alive Natural Moves 2x daily with Elmo. Have to syringe it because he won’t eat it but it’s worth it to keep him regular . Also add water to each meal :)

I always used Miralax on Dusty but with my latest food switch to Purina Pro Plan Prime Plus his poop has been beautiful all by himself. After some investigation I discovered Pro Plan Prime Plus has Chicory Root. This food firmed up my civie's loose stool and softened Dusty's so it's perfect.

Add lots of extra water to the food and you could add a teaspoon of plain canned pumpkin
He already gets 1/2 water and food to all his meals and snacks. His food is like soup:smuggrin: He did give me 2 nice surprises today :woot: He gets 1/4 tsp miralax in both his big meals AM&PM and I hate to up that. I'm going to try adding pumpkin and see if that works.
His litter mate has been on miralax for 11 years and was also on pumpkin for 8 years.
I just didnt want to over do it with the miralax.
Thank you!:D

Is that 2 TSP in one feeding? or split between his 2 meals? Like 1 tsp each meal? TY :)

OK, I found it on Amazon, same thing for $29.00 :) Can you tell me how you make your syrup ? I really appreciate it. And how long do you keep it, before you make another batch? I'm looking forward to trying it, I see it's good for humans too :)

I use Tanya's site recipe to prepare it (http://www.felinecrf.org/holistic_treatments.htm#seb_what_is_it) I actually use the microwave option but since 1 cup is just too much and I ended up throwing away most of it I just prepare 1/4 of a cup of water with 1/4 tsp of SEB and instead of the times recommended on the recipe I dissolve the SEB in the water, then warm it for 22 seconds in the microwave, then stir it a bit and put it back in the microwave for 7 more seconds and I keep it in the fridge for 5 days tops as they recommend.

Is good for humans too I've actually tried it on myself and it certainly helped

Thank you so much, I ordered it last night, so we shall see. He does so much better without his acid reducer for his poop situation, so hoping that will help with his infrequent yaks too :) Once I get it and make it, do you think I should try it without his Miralax first?

Probably that's a good idea if you want to see if you can avoid the Miralax
