Conjunctivitis?

Hello I put the i because I am hoping for information, if it is not OK remove it. My non sugar kitty Kona was diagnosed with
conjunctivitis, don't know if it is purulent or the other type, he has no ulcers.
I have done the L-lysine religiously and the eye drops (first 2 days got up at 1 am so he got them every 4 hrs)
now it is in his other eye.. I read about putting an elizabethian color on him which I SHOULD have done but the vet did not
suggest it ( my hubby took him as I was out of town for work and he did not ask...) so anyway
Do you any of you have experience with this? He is on liquid drops, I will post type in a bit, the bottle is in with him (he is sequestered from the rest. Thank you!!
 
My Tonic had that. I first used antibiotic drops and it went away after a few days but would come back. L-lysine made it stay away.
 
Thank you! I bought more l-lysine on line, as I have a kitten who is taking it too. How long did you continue with the l-lysine? His eyes look better this morning, we did 2 drops in each eye last nite and 2 this morning. Who knows how much gets in each eye you know? I think he was doing better when I was doing the drops every 4-6 hrs. It was almost gone and then came back. Thanks for your input!
