Confused still on carbs

I know there are lists and charts out there.

And dry matter and as fed analysis.

Which is the one to really go by:

1. Dry matter
2. As fed
3. Percentage of metabolizable energy from

I use canned DM. The average nutrient content on 100 calorie basis is carbs 1.67 per 5.5 oz can.

Average composition is carbs as fed 1.07 and dry matter is 4.51

Digestion results are carbs 30.3%.
Metabolizable energy from carbs is 3.3%

So which one am I suppose to go by?

Good question, Paula, and I will be interested to hear the answer because it is all so very confusing.
 
To choose a food for a diabetic kitty, you need to know the percentage of kilocalories that come from carbs in the food. That needs to be less than 10%.

Typically you start with the 'as fed' values and from that derive the dry matter percentage of carbs. Then you use the dry matter values to calculate the kilocalories provided from protein, fat, and carbs.
