i apologize for not having created a spreadsheet yet - but for context, my 9 year old cat luna was diagnosed with diabetes in november. with three units twice a day now, we are managing stable blood sugar levels averaging between 150-250 throughout most of the day generally. tonight her sugar read was 145 before dinner, and now two hours after insulin later it's 75! this has happened twice before - seeing a reading below 80, once it was even at 60 - and each time i gave her honey just for her sugar to then skyrocket overnight and be 400-500 in the morning. i still gave her a bit of honey tonight and will be checking again in another hour. she isn't acting off at all but i don't understand why sometimes it just drops so low like this, seemingly out of nowhere - nothing was different today. should i be giving her less insulin when her reading is below a certain amount? all the vet told me to do was give her 3 units twice a day - she didn't suggest switching it up depending on her reading, but i am no longer so sure. i hate having scares like this - should i be terribly worried about a reading around 70? i am so terrified of hypoglycemia that when her sugar drops below 80, i panic. any advice is very much appreciated.
again sorry that i don't have a spreadsheet yet - i will be working on it! and i am new to using this forum, so if this post belongs elsewhere please let me know. thank you!
