I have a 2 year old cat who suffers from auto-immune disease. He has had two episodes of meningioencephalitis, also has had pancreatitis, hepatitis, and suffers from intermittent inflammatory bowel disease. He was originally treated with steroids and developed steroid induced diabetes. He was started on Lantus insulin and the diabetes resolved after four weeks. The steroid was discontinued and he was started on a chemotherapeutic agent to suppress his immune system, but unfortunately developed hepatitis and liver infection. Fortunately, he has recovered from that but his diabetes has returned after he was started on steroid ear drops. He appears to be avery happy, active cat and loves to always be with the family. We have recently switched Glucometers to the onetouch Vero. Just trying to find information on managing his sugar is better.
