Compatible test strips for AlphaTrak 2 monitor

Hello everyone,

We recently discovered that the AlphaTrak 2 monitor, which we purchased six months ago, has been discontinued.

This has made it quite challenging to find the test strips both in the UK and online.

I'm reaching out to see if anyone here has experience with using test strips from other brands that are compatible with this monitor. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!

It is not recommended using test strips other than the ones made for a particular machine. There is no guarantee thru will be accurate.
I would go out and buy a human meter. Much cheaper to run and the strips are easier to find.

I'm echoing Bron's information. It is fine to use a human meter -- it's what everyone used before there was a marketing blitz for pet specific meters. The strips for a human meter are considerably less than what you've been spending for the Alpha Track strips.
