Claudia's Moses has gone on ahead

It is with much sadness that I have to report that Claudia's beloved friend Moses has gone on ahead and is now running free, happy and healthy at the rainbow bridge.

She made the painful decision to set him free the day before yesterday when she learned that what she had originally thought might be a dental problem was instead a tumor in his jaw causing him not to be able to eat or drink anymore.

As we all know that have faced that gut wrenching decision to give our beloved companions that final gift of love her heart is breaking right now and I'm very sure she can use all the love and comfort we can give her during this sad time.

Fly Free dearest Moses you were oh so loved and you will be so missed.

(((Claudia))) I'm so very sorry. I understand your pain very well, as do many others here, and we are all sad to hear that it was Moses's time to leave. This is the price we pay for loving so much. Try to remember that you did your very very best for Moses, and he knew that, and he loved you.

Right now you are in shock and disbelief, and you may go through various other stages of grief which are all very normal and natural. If it helps, you will find people over on the Grief forum who will offer you soothing words as you attempt to come to terms with your loss.

Having been through this twice myself, and nearly gone mad with grief on both occasions, I can only say in retrospect that only time helps. You will find your own ways of helping yourself, and letting others in, to help you. You may throw yourself into other things, new projects, or you may want to go down other routes. Just do whatever feels right for you. I started to collect poems which actually just made me cry all the more, but some of them are very beautiful. Here's one that is very sweet:

And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
To decide anything for myself.

Are you coming then? asked God.
Soon, replied the whiskered angel
But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.

But don't they understand? asked God
That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?

My sincere condolences, You did the right thing by your dear friend and companion. Fly free dear kitty Moses land ever so softly back in Claudia's heart forever.

Dear Claudia,

I am so very sorry about Moses having to leave you. He is now with all our other angels, and I just thought about my dear Ketchie, that tomorrow, Thursday, 3-7, will be two weeks since i had to make that sorrowful decision to let her go.

This is just so hard to face, having such loving furbabies, with all the love they give to us, in their innocence, and then knowing we have to lose them sooner than we sometimes know.

May he fly free now, and be waiting for you with your other furbabies at the Rainbow Bridge.

Claudia, I was so sorry to hear of Moses' passing. He is running free of pain and enjoying the meadows over the bridge.

Thank you all so much for your kind words to me and Moses. I appreciate it so much. I know that Moses is not suffering any longer and I can take comfort in that. I hope to see my baby again some day.

I am so very sorry for your loss, Claudia. It is so hard to lose our beloved friends. Maybe Moses is playing with my darling Owen, who we lost a month ago.
