Good morning all ~O) I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Last night I did what Sue told me to do. I waited 2 hours and took her BG again. She was 277 so I shot 2 units. It did change my schedule from 4am/4pm to 6am/6pm. I think that I'll like the 6am/6pm schedule better since it allowed me to sleep late this morning!! CL's AMPS was 448 so I shot with 3 units. I'll be able to do a mid cycle read at lunch today.
I'm keeping a very good eye on her behavior to see if I see anything at all ssems amiss with her. I have her on Drs Foster and Smith Cranberry Health tablets for UTI's. She gets one every other day. Im going to give her one everyday instead of every other day because the only thing that I have seen that has been "off" is yesterday she missed the litter box and pee'd all over the floor next to the litter box. I dont know if she just missed it or if the box was not to her liking or if she may be getting a UTI. She seems to be feeling good purring and enjoying a good brushing and a little petting. cat_pet_icon

It sounds like a UTI might be brewing? Will be interesting to see what midcycle number is.

Re: CL 11/29 Thanks for the help Sue! AMPS 448

I am curious as to her mid day reading as well. I hope CL feels better cause they most definitely can spike high from a UTI.

6+ was 143 fed her 1/4 can FF and then she went back and laid down. She was not interested in going outside. I dont think she feels good but its really hard to tell because even when she feels great she is not very active.

That's more than a 50% drop from amps so it could possibly cause a bounce, but it isn't a super low number. How often does she bounce and how low does it usually take her? Can you get another test around +8 to see what is happening?

If she has an infection, the insulin usually continues to work - in that she does drop- but you see higher overall numbers. If she doesn't drop low enough to cause a bounce and she stays higher overall, I think I'd get her checked out.

I did not see your post until just now when I logged on to report my PMPS number so no 8+ taken. Sue the 6+ of 143 was the lowest I think that I've ever seen in her. I really cant recall that low number that often. I'll take a look at my spreadsheet and find out what the lowest has been. I confess that I've been lax and posting on my spreadsheet lately. (Shame on me) It does store in my meter so I do have the numbers but I have been lax at transfering them to the spreadsheet.
Her PMPS was 275 and I fed her 1/2 can FF and she seems to be feeling pretty good. She enjoyed her brushing and she even played a little with me. We took turns swiping the stopper at the end of the syringe back and forth across the floor to each other. All litter box habits today have been completely normal.

That changes the picture completely! So she continued down the whole cycle - should mean the dose is a little high. Sure means the insulin is working fine. What are you thinking for pmps? I assume she won't continue down - check for sure.

I only gave 2 units for PMPS. I also looked at past 6+ numbers on spreadsheet. I dont have a ton of 6+ numbers but I have enough to see that that is pretty ok.

I'll get as many as I can. I'll be able to for Saturday and Sunday. Next week will be tough. I've been called for jury duty for 2 weeks starting on Monday. Its going to mess up my feeding her every 6 hours. I am going to rig up a baby gate and leave some out so that she will be able to get to it without the dog eating it. I just hope my plan works!! Thanks bunches for all the help!

The 143 number is a good one so that dose worked well for her. Glad she is feeling better! As for Jury Duty, you may end up getting out of it earlier than they told you anyway so fingers crossed. Hope CL continues to feel better!
