If anyone has a few spare moments and could send some good thoughts to Drevons buddy Rico we will graciously accept....

Rico is 17 and has been given SQ fluids since he was 11. He is not interested in being pilled or handled much especially lately.

I do not feel he is in pain just natural aging process. I got him to lick some baby food with SEB mixed in it tonight off my finger.

He gets nausea meds and that is about all he will tolerate without starting to hide from me.

We also have injectable onadestron and cerenia....
I am so grateful that he has responded so well to fluids for 6 years. His quality of life and dignity is what matters most to us..... He is a very proud and independent boy.:bighug:

Love the picture of Rico! Sending prayers for him and you Jayla!

Jayla,

Keeping you and Rico, especially now, in my thoughts and prayers. We just can't bear the thought of losing our furbabes, so we go through that paranoia feeling when things change...even just a little. You have kept him happy and healthy for a long time, how impressive to see 6 years on fluids! Sending feel better vines to help it pass. I love seeing kitties in the sink! :bighug:

Thank you so much Dawn... I keep you close to my heart....:bighug:
we certainly have lost too many precious little ones especially this past month or so. It is crazy that I hardly remember anything but I remember the exact day I rescued both of my boys and every single emotion as if it was an hour ago.... I can't believe it has been 17 years.... where did it go?

Oh Jayla, I wish I was there to give you a big hug. It's so hard to see our beloved kitties feeling unwell, especially when they are older, I know. Keeping positive thoughts for Rico and you. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I am with you Jayla...every step of the way. (((((((My hugs are geographically close...sending GIANT ones for comfort tonight)))))).

I question any adult who would not know their cat was an unaltered male...he belonged with you.

Dawn:bighug::bighug:
I have been laying with Rico on the bed and did a mini exam :rolleyes:
I don't know if this has any relevance but he has a small cyst like bump on his lower side of his lip. I gently tried to see if it had fluid and it doesn't seem like it. I just emailed my vet.
Rico is not tolerant of the house call he has to go in so I am waiting for his reply but probably going Thursday when my vet is in the office. I can get his blood panel done too. His vet is a hour away. :banghead:
Praying they can get the blood with no sedation. If not I think I will just give AB.
Thank you so much for the comforting words. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thinking of you and wondering how Rico is doing today. I've had scares with "lip things" on my cats from time to time, they either go away on their own or ab...hoping that's the case here.
Dawn and @Marje and Gracie
I think you are on to something..... it looks like it may go away.... I am watching it closely and put some AB ointment on it--he let me press it a little and it seeped just a tad--
I wish I could stay home today....:bighug::bighug::bighug:

How is Rico today? Hope everything is ok! :bighug:
Rico is a little brighter today...he let me look at the little bump closely and it isn't ready to "pop"-- he is usually not very tolerant so I know he is not feeling himself but he did eat a little and he pooped....
Thank all of you SO much for your thoughts -prayers and emotional support... it has really held my head together...:bighug::bighug::bighug:
