For the past few days Tiger has not been eating. I took her to the vet yesterday and they could not find anything wrong. They did blood work, but that will not be back until late today. She has been prescribed an appetite stimulant.

I have been syringe feeding her to make sure she does eat. She acts like she is hungry, but no matter what food I put in front of her, she sniffs it and walks away. Then starts meowing for food again. It is if she cannot smell the food. I have tried several foods including tuna and also the parmesean cheese - she does not want any of them. She is not exhibiting any symptoms of a cold or URI.

If anyone has any suggestions to get her to eat, I would appreciate it.

Charlie would do the same thing when I was trying to transition him from his e-tube to eating by mouth again. I tried the same thing: freeze dried salmon or chicken on top, parmesan, and Forifora. It was hit or miss. Could it be that she doesn't like her food anymore? It took a lot of trial and error to find food that Charlie would eat. I learned that he did not like pate anymore, even though he had eaten it in the past. Even if I added a bunch of water to make "cat soup" he would take a few licks and then follow me around meowing his "feed me" meow. I finally discovered that he will eat sliced/minced/chunky foods and that he loves Nature's Variety raw. He will gobble it up like he hasn't eaten in days! So now he is on a mostly raw diet, and the pet food store I buy from is very reasonably priced.

I would rule out any possible illness, but while you're doing that it couldn't hurt to try some different foods.

She finally started eating on her own this morning. I am still waiting on the results back from the vet's office to see if they found anything.
