Hi Bron and everyone , received my RMM food yesterday, and I made another order for RMM. (supplement)Thank you so so much @Bron and Sheba (GA) for giving me continuous help/ advice.spending your time to find food for me.

after received it I can slowly train them to raw meat. ( cooked) I will buy beef , chicken.

Cierra got diabetes/ kidney early stage/ pancreatitis/ blood pressure.
Did not do blood test for Simba yet. Fingers crossed, touched wood I hope and wish he is healthy.

should I buy any other meat?

I do add water to Simba and Cierra food because they don’t drink water. Cierra pee few times . Am I giving extra work for kidney?
I hope not. But I want to get your thought’s please.

Hi Din!
Adding water to the cats food is a good idea and won’t hurt the kidneys at all. Keep doing it.
As you are using the supplement RMM it is not so important to use another meat, but if you want to, that is fine.
You could use pork mince or lamb mince you can buy at Woolworths. Just make sure it is fresh and has plenty of days before the use by date and make sure there are no additives in the mince. There shouldn’t be in the pork and lamb mince.
Do you have a bowl of water out for the cats to drink from?

Okay Bron Thank you..!! Yes both of them used have 6 water bowls . I put water bowls everywhere. And they have water fountain. Because they don’t use them now I put only three bawls. Simba used to drink water from tap when we were in Melbourne. But Dubbo I can’t let him drink water from tap because mud / orange colour water coming from tap. Sometimes council announces about toxic mix to water. So I only can let him drink bottled water. Because of that he is not drinking water at all. Thank you Bron I’ll buy pork and lamb mince . I’ll make sure it is not close to best before date.

Hi Bron extremely sorry, i did type the reply but have not post it :banghead:
Sure I’ll let you know Bron .
For now they really like it, it recently joined to all feline health health groups such as , feline kidney , feline pancrease , feline diabetes ( Facebook group for this forum), feline UTI, etc… im reading other’s experience when I have time, I did order food enzymes from i herbs . It call super enzyme, do you know any other good food enzymes Bron ?

Hello there, Din! I did look at the enzymes you linked. So it is the NOW Super Enzymes that you are thinking of buying (or bought?) Well, I use a lot of NOW products myself (I take their Optimal Digestive System "Full Spectrum Enzymes" for myself on occasion when eating certain foods,) but I wonder if these are really necessary for your cat. They should come from her food or from her pancreas, saliva, etc. -- so I wonder if they are necessary. I would imagine that they cannot hurt if given in the proper amount. How much will you be giving and how frequently -- will you mix them into food or give in a capsule or what? I have never used digestive enzymes in my cat. If your cat is diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency then I know that enzymes are recommended and there is a pretty complicated procedure for giving them (incubate the enzymes, etc.) Hopefully, that is not the case with your Cierra.

What kind of medication is she taking for her blood pressure. I'm glad you are on top of it since high blood pressure can further damage the kidneys (as well as other organs as you know.)

Hi Suzanne, I did order it, but still did not receive. Therefore do not know about the amount/tablet I should use.
My vet did not say what kind of pancreatitis Cierra has. But he said you will get it again. Ready with financially.
For blood pressure she is taking amodip 1.25 mg - 1 table at 7 pm with food. I’m feeding Raw meaw MEAL dried food + water. Low phosphorus and low carbs still her BG really high. Do you think this is okay ?

And waiting raw meaw mix.need to mix this supplement with raw meat. I’m going to cook. And mix. It also low carbs . But still BS is super high. I’m exhausted.

Trieing everything but don’t see a good result… when she get medicine for blood pressure, can blood pressure still damage kidney and other organs???

She looks tired last night…

Well cats with pancreatitis do tend to have recurring bouts of it— they get over it — and then sometimes it comes back again. Usually the main way to treat it is with fluids (or lots of water to keep cat hydrated) and pain medication if they seem to need it and anti-nausea medication like Cerenia (Maropitant) or Ondansetron. So vet is correct that it can reoccur.

If you treat and lower her blood pressure with the Amlodipine then it will keep her blood pressure regulated and will be much healthier for her. The vet should check her blood pressure again maybe 2 week or so after she started the Amlodipine. I am happy you started her on this med because I have had cats with untreated high blood pressure before and they had seizures and went blind (although in their case the blindness did eventually get better so they could see again. ). So you are doing the right thing. I am so sorry that the Amlodipine is so expensive. I hope you can get it from the online pharmacy that is less expensive. Isn’t it wonderful to have Bron there to help you find things like that in Australia. She is wonderful!

Regarding the enzymes, I was wondering if the person who recommended them to you had advised you on how much of a capsule you should give to your cat (since the capsules are for humans.).

And you asked about her BG numbers. The only thing I can advise is to keep on increasing her dose every six cycles as you are now doing. You will eventually start to see movement and her BG will decrease. Don’t give up. It is VERY discouraging and upsetting to feel like you’re not making any progress. I understand. My cat had over 40 units of insulin at one point. Believe me, I understand hopelessness and discouragement and frustration. But your Cierra will get to a dose that works for her soon, I think. You are doing your very best for her out of love. Things will get better!!

Thank You Suzanne,

I did ask Cerenia from my vet , but he refused to give it, so I’m going to buy Ondansetron , I think it does not need prescription. If she vomited how much could be the dose fro ondansentron ?

My cats don’t drink water anymore ( I might not see it) so I do add water to their every meal. They don’t like it but eat when hungry. I have no other option, :(

My vet did not tell me to come and check her blood pressure :( . I will definitely go and check it again. Cierra does have bright green circle around her black eye ball. And also tearing. I did mention this to vet. But he said it’s normal. Do you think blood pressure could be a reason ?

I’m giving Amlodipine with food. Sometimes she takes to eat two hours. Should I give it in one shot or takin two hours time to eat her food with Amlodipine is an issue??

yes It’s expensive. @Bron found an online pharmacy for me to buy it cheaper.yes Suzanne . Bron is a diamond to me and Cierra. I don’t have enough words to say thank you to Bron :bighug:. And aslo you all helping me a lot Suzanne. Thank you so soo much :bighug:

I did not ask it yet because my parcel didn’t come. But definitely I’ll ask it today Suzanne.

Thank you so much Suzanne. Yes it’s disappointing. I used to check her every hour so far. Now I don’t check much. That much I was disappointed. Thank you Suzanne . Yes I can’t give up with Cierra.

One more question: has her fur grown in any more? A little bit maybe?
Yes Suzanne, her purr is growing, I’m glad, I was worried about it too. It’s growing slowly .

thank you soo soo much for this information, kindness, and time Suzanne :bighug:
