Chronic rebound?

Been giving copper 1.2u for 4 or 5 days and he is staying high and flat except for when the insulin wears off and it goes down for ps. THis has been a continuous thing since raising up from .8u. DO you think this might be chronic rebound when there is just a little too much insulin?

I'm going to raise up to 1.4u tomorrow and see what happens. If he stays high and flat and drops for ps again after a couple of cycles then i guess i will know he is in chronic rebound?

Does anyone know much about what chronic rebound is? Does this look like it?

Hi Lori,

Just wanted to say hi. Wish I could help...but I'm no good with the SS analysis thing. Only thing I can clearly see is the last time you caught a green number he was on 1.0u. I guess there could be more greens, since then, that you've missed...and therefore he's rebounding. I'm sure someone will come along to help.

I ran across your cat with the pink wig...it was adorable. I've been a little too stressed to post Marilyn's blog. Maybe someday soon! You'll have to tell me how you finally got the link to work without having to copy/paste the code???

Hi Lori
I am sorry but I really dont see it
I only see yesterday a little wonly but It could also be the 20% variance
If it were me I would stick with the 1.2 and let him settle in
It might take a few more days

I am new to rebound since our cat hasn’t really done it much until the last month or so. But my understanding is when the kitty goes low, if their body isn’t used to it, the liver may dump sugar into the blood, and you get a bounce or rebound, a nasty pink, red or worse number after some nice low numbers. I don’t see Copper dipping that low, but again, I am no rebound expert. Any other opinions?

I don't see rebound. It looks like flat cycles to me. Early on when Kitty had cycles like Copper's, I tried to convince myself that she was rebounding--- I didn't even know what it meant!!!! But, I was certain she was doing it! But, eventually I raised the dose and her cycles started to curve downward. Just increase slowly and see what you get. Copper is not in dangerously high numbers, so increase slowly and give his body time to adjust-- it will help eliminate the extreme bounces.

Just my thoughts!

Good Luck!
