Chocolate is still staying HIGH..help?

Ok now I'm really starting to get frustrated. Chocolate is consistently very high and doesn't seem to come down very much at all anymore. I don't know what to do anymore?
 
This morning you go about a 150 point drop so the insulin is working. Depending ups what the +6 is, an increase to 1 units might be in order.
 
Grrr..I just did her bg which is about +6 at this time and its 384 :evil: I think I'm also going to buy the strips I used to use, one touch ultra...I've been using the Relion confirm and one day I did three tests in a row and got pretty different readings so I don't know. I'm getting so frustrated..
 
Caveat: I am not a ProZinc user.

Going from 5 units Humlin N to 1 unit ProZinc seems like a reasonable place to start when switching insulins.

I see that you dropped it to 0.4 units ProZinc after she hit values in the 30s. What I've seen recommended when glucose values below 50 are hit is smaller insulin dose reductions by 1/4 when you are starting with a low dose already. This would result in a dose that is 3/4 of what brought the glucose too low. Maybe stick with the 0.8 you used today for at least 3 days and then run a curve.

Other than the 1 note about vomiting on Chocolate's spreadsheet, you don't mention what is being fed, how much, and when; those factors also will affect the glucose readings. Maybe add a 2nd line below the glucose readings to note food info. Some folks use timed feeders to space out the food so that it synchronizes more with the insulin action.

It looks like maybe it isn't lasting long enough and has little to no carryover on the 12 hour dosing. An alternative is to consider dosing every 8 hours OR to consider an insulin with a known longer duration and carryover such as Lantus or Levemir.
