Well my victory was short lived. After 5/6 pokes for PMPS no blood and CL was getting out of dodge!! Anyway fed her 1/2 can FF and shot with 2.5 units. :roll:

Granted - urine ketones and/or glucose are not as accurate as blood tests, but it is still useful information
- glucose in urine = over renal threshold (somewhere from 180 - 280 mg/dL)
- ketones in urine = not enough insulin, so breaking down fat for calories

Also, amount of water drunk, size of wet litter patties, level of hunger, etc. are all indicators of control, albeit subtle.
