Re: Chicken 7/25 & 7/26

Not what I would have expected. No chance she got into some contraband? Those numbers make no sense. I'd get some more numbers when you can to see if that is the real pattern.

Re: Chicken 7/25 & 7/26

Maybe Im learning something because I also thought the numbers were wacky. Today 6+ is 215
I thought that they were wacky enough that I set the litter box up to test for ketones. Just waiting to get a sample.

Re: Chicken 7/25 & 7/26

And check the test strips for expiration date and exposure to heat.

Maybe test yourself or double test whenever a test looks wonky.

(You probably remember to wash your hands so you can't contaminate a test.)

Re: Chicken 7/25 & 7/26

Yes I do wash hands before and after. Last 2 strips in the bottle and today I opened a new bottle of Prozinc.

Re: Chicken 7/25 & 7/26

Unless individually wrapped, its possible the strips may have had enough air/humidity exposure to be less accurate. You'll be able to confirm this if you test a current strip with a new one.

How's the humidity where you are? Keeping them dry can be tough when its summer.

Re: Chicken 7/25 & 7/26

The humidity is pretty high. Its the rainy season. I'll just go ahead and open a new box

Re: Chicken 7/25 & 7/26

I wonder if additional dessicant packs such as those from pill bottles would help preserve them once opened. hmmnn.

Re: Chicken 7/25 & 7/26

That is a good idea. I will find one and put it in the new bottle of strips that I opened. I have one in a bottle of Cosequin that I can use.
PMPS is 366
