Baby seems to chew my plastic plant & always has, she does eat grass too. Is there a supplement I need to be giving her?

If she's been in to the vet recently and checked out OK, perhaps it is just some boredom. If that is so, regular play sessions of 15-20 minutes, 1-2 times a day, may help.

Or, it could be attention seeking behavior - if you immediately go to her when she does this, she could have learned that it is an effective way to get you over to her.

There have been reports here of cats that are attracted to plastic.

My Tommy is one.

I cannot leave any grocery-store plastic bag out, or a zip-lock.

They are like a magnet to Tommy, and he chews/eats them.

Some plastics are made from corn...maybe the smell/taste like food ?

Schroeder eats my one fake plant that looks like long wheat field grasses, as well as any other living plant in my house, and then barfs them up sometime later. I took this as a giant hint that he may need some cat grass. He's been eating it with great gusto and leaving my other plants alone. Don't know why.

I don't know if your cat has just picked up this habit or it is long standing.I have two cats who like to chew on blinds, cords plastic bags and even shoes. If there is one or two particular things they like, there are several products you can try.One is called bitter apple and you can spray in on things your kitty chews. It has a very bad flavor but is nontoxic. It works well for my nibblers but you have to respray every week or so. There are other products that have a scent cats are supposed to hate.I have never had too much like with them.If you have something you might want to keep your cats away from entirely, Foster and Smith carry mats or strips called scat mats. They give off a static shock if the cat steps on it and they learn quickly to avoid the area.

If your cat has just started chewing, you may also want to get a dental check.sometimes getting chew toys might work but my cats just ignored the toys and kept eating my stuff.
