I did it! Got it on the first try! Chelsea's level was 219. She hasn't eaten since 7am. I have been giving her 2 units of Prozinc 2x a day. Good to stay with that?

I am so happy that wasn't hard! thanks for everyone's help! :razz:
 
Congratulations! Getting that first one in is a huge first step, and it definitely gets easier. Remember too - don't get discouraged if every test doesn't go perfectly for the first, oh, few years. I think even the best of the best lancers has an off day occasionally!!
 
Sorry not 100% sure what you mean in the cycle? I gave it to her pre shot, pre food hasn't eaten since 7am.
 
In general, we tell new diabetics not to shoot under 200 and not to shoot unless you are sure the number is going up. Since she is near 200 11 hours after her last shot, she may have gone pretty low mid cycle.

I would, to be safe, reduce the dose. You can post your number 12 hours after the shot(your pm preshot) and get advice on your dose.
