Hi all,
This is just a chatty piece of nothing-in-particular; I haven't posted for a while because I've been struggling a bit with my emotional stability coping with the FD upheaval and the overwhelming torrent of information out there--some of it contradictory.
There's nothing really new to report anyhow
we're all still settling into our daily routine and hoping for regulation soon. The fact that Cheekyface was actually in early DKA at diagnosis makes remission a hoped-for but unlikely outcome; frankly, I just want her to be well and content in herself for as long as she stays with me.
We had a fairly serious diet issue last week, with my old boy Bodie becoming intolerant of the raw meatsicles and throwing up big time, and then them BOTH having upset tummies on our holiday Monday. That meant Cheeky didn't eat much either and slept by the heater most of the day--her 0.5 dose increase kicked in as well, typical, and her numbers dropped nicely into the yellows...BUT the not eating was a worry for the rest of that day -- she's fine now and has her appetite back. And is bouncing, damn, but that should settle soon and we can see what the dose is doing.
So the only freezies I leave out are tuna and boiled chicken, both of which Bodie can eat as well, and he's actually eating a mix of k/d and tuna for main meals now which is far better for him.
I'm going overseas in 3 weeks to visit my family in NZ (the trip's been booked and paid for since last July) and because of her diabetes, Cheeks now has to board in a vet-run cattery; the upset to her routine will probably throw things out all over again, so I guess there'll be a bit more up-and-downing when I get back before she settles again. I want to get her off m/d and onto the FFs but there's just too much else going on with us right now, so that's for when I come home.
No wonder they call this the sugar dance... ohmygod_smile
Hoping everyone and their furbabies are having a good day
