Bad mom forgot to make Himself eat before +3. Got the snack in too late too stop the big drop.
I ordered the timed feeder to take care of that....I hope.

My Little One had his eye removed last summer, when it became infected after what my vet thought was a dog attack. He was a stray, being fed by the people who took him to the SPCA, when they saw the eye. I will say only that it was very bad. He was still recovering, from horrific injuries, when I saw him at the rescue.

He was handed to me, and he tucked his little injured head under my chin.....and I was a goner!
I took him to my own vet and she said, the injuries looked like his head had been in a dog's mouth... 'nough said!

Late Thurs nite, there was blood coming from the sewed shut eyelid! OMG!
We can only guess, that he injured it while wrestling with his brothers, maybe caught a toenail in a corner of the eyelid. He could have even run into something...he has no off button. He bolts, and races...never just walks. LOL

Next morning, took him back to the vet that did the original surgery, (last summer) and she had to reopen the eyelid, and flush out the empty socket, with antibiotic flush. She said it was clean and no infection...as she called it. "it looked 'happy' , in there.

Now it's sutured shut again, with a drain in it for a few more days. So far it's not bothering him.
I put warm compresses on it, and keep it clean, and wait for it to heal again....and hope it doesn't happen again.
There's nothing behind the eyelid....empty socket, from the way the vet described it. Now I'm scared if he plays too hard, he'll open it again and get bacteria in it.
He loves to wrestle with Checkers, who get those big back bunny feet going.

Poor Little One. cat_pet_icon cat_pet_icon But Mama Bean is a ((((good bean)))) and takes great care of all her babies.

awww poor baby ... but kitties will be kitties right? We just have to hope it doesn't happen again ... nice numbers by the way!

WOW Barb! How wonderful of you to take this lovely, furry little fella in and take care of him. He is soooooooooooooo lucky!

Dont worry so much about the forgotten snack. ONce you get it going again this experience may help you see how well it works when you do give the mini meals.

Have an amazing sunday! Hope its warm and sunny in your neck of the woods.

You got hooked too huh? Echo was so tiny when the boys found him and brought him home... and such a little lover. Still is, though he does love to race around and shows his Tuff Stuff when he needs too. Tuff Stuff is what I called him the first few days before we hit on Echo, I called him that because even teeny tiny and blind as a bat he still hissed when he felt threatened and would act like he was a big tough tomcat.

We still need to get his eyes scooped and sewn shut, the only vet I've gotten a quote from was way out of my budget right now. So I keep his eyes washed out with saline and I pick his eyelashes out when they get stuck in the lids and irritate his sockets and we wipe his eyes a billion times a day (when he's not wiping them on the couch or the box springs or whatever else he finds to use) Once in a while he gets some dust or something in there and they get a bit runny, but a rinse with saline does the trick. We haven't had an infection since the one he got here with (antijinx!!!!!) but I've worried about it non-stop. So Echo and I feel lots of empathy for you and your Little One. We hope he feels better soon!

Thank you for the kind words, Everyone. Little One, who's name is Clancy, is the most loving cat . He follows me around like a puppy. Well actually, he races in front of me, then stops, then races a few feet....and stops. He thinks he's a herding dog.
He makes the cutest trilling sound. It almost makes me cry, when he meows in his tiny voice.

Checkers is feeling so much better, being on insulin. He's more friendly, and playful. I'm really surprised and happy, that it makes a difference.

((Carolyn)), your comment on yesterday's condo, made me teary.
Marvie, Clancy's original surgery was paid for by the SPCA. I don't want to think of what that would have cost me. This repair job was bad enough.

Hi Barb, So glad to hear that Clancy doesn't have an infection. He sounds like a really neat cat. Checkers is doing great. You can do the +3 snack tomorrow!

Ella, I will definately remember tomorrow, cause boy, he dropped hard again today.
I hope it doesn't take too long for my feeder to arrive. I ordered it from Pet Mountain and I think they're across the country from me. LOL
