Happy Father's day to all the dads out there!
Charley is still up to his shenanigans. Amps 122. The most insulin he has received is .2. I did get u100's last night and that has helped with measuring this tiny dose.
I'm just so surprised what has happened from opening a new vial or could it be a coincidence? Thoughts?

+17 291 sigh. I went ahead and gave .2. How can I get him back now on a schedule? Do I monitor and slowly start adjusting him back in small time increments? I think I just really confused myself.

If possible, it is best to watch and dose when he reaches your "magic" number, maybe in the 170 range whenever possible. It doesn't look like he will get back to a 12/12 schedule if his pancreas is letting the cycle go long. If you can keep him below 170 with the tiny doses, he "should" be required less and less insulin at longer intervals. (anti jinx)

This makes your life more complicated, but it really is good news.

What would meal times look like? Would I need to just be sure to feed him before every shot? This would make things rough on my two other cars. They've become very used to meals on a 12/12 schedule. Sorry for all the questions. I'm very anxious about this.

We just think small frequent meals help when their pancreas joins the party. It could be a snack during the cycle or several snacks - whatever you can manage. Lots of us use the automatic feeders to give a small snack during the day and night. It could be a low carb treat or a tiny bit of regular food.

You still want to be sure you get your number when food has no influence - either up or down. So if you can stay away from feeding 2 hours before you plan to test that would be good. But with a variable schedule, that makes it harder.

The truth is, he will do what he will do. Snacks might help, but he will be okay without them. You do the best you can. Of the difficult practices in this OTJ process, I think catching him before he goes high and mini dosing is the more important.
