So after nearly 2 years, little Mr. Trouble/Diablo aka Cedric has been giving me very high test readings for the past week or so. After getting a tooth extracted on Tuesday, his numbers are down, but still in the high 200/low 300. I started giving him insulin this evening - I started with 0.5 units (at least I think, no half marks on these old syringes) since he was at 210. Of course he is jonesing for his dinner (at 7pm) and has been eating food like it's going out of style. He had pacreatitius last summer/early fall but was non-responsive to the treatment/meds. Doc and I are hoping that he will just need a little help before going OTJ again. He is 7 1/2.
His adoptive brother, Dallas, can't seem to figure out what all the fuss is - what's sugar mom? Why do you prick his ear - you'd not touchen mine! (Dallas had a bad hematoma in one ear when I rescued him from the stray life in Sept 2011) Oh, treats!
Well wish us luck!
