CBC Lab results - need deciphering please

Beatrice's mom here again.
She is the kitty that received a diagonosis of boarderline diabetes and a bladder infection and the vet prescribed Glipizide, antibiotics, and prescription dry food.
She is 12 yrs old, weighing 12 lbs

I just receieved the lab results from the vet, and I need someone to help me deciper a few things that show a reading of "high"
Albumin
4.0 Ref Range(2.5-3.9)

Glucose
195 Ref Range (64-170)

CPK
802 Ref Range (56-529)

These show a reading of "Low":
Platelet Count
134 Ref Range (200-500)

Neutrophils
2394 Ref Range (2500-8500)

Lymphocytes
912 Ref Range (1200-8000)

Fructosamine
271 Ref Range (142-450)

I am not giving her the Glipizide, but changed her food to Fancy Feast Classics and administering the antiobiotics. I will find a new vet for her, but based on these high and low readings don't know if I quickly need to have her seen by another vet. Any help is greatly appreciated. I know I have been posting a lot today, but I am trying to get a handle on this thing, and understand fully what I am dealing with.

Well, I think I would pick up a meter, test strips for the meter and learn to home test. That way, you will be able to know how your cat's glucose numbers are going.

With infections, it's quite common for high glucose on tests, so just go with the antibiotics for now ... what meds did this vet give to take? I am just curious if it's a good antibiotic because glipizide is a pretty harsh and ancient kind of treatment for diabetes.

For sure you don't want to be feeding any dry food and most vet office food is not great and is pricey.
You can look for foods on Dr. Lisa's food listing from catinfo.org to pick foods that are under 10% carbs

I can't comment on the other values, but for now, stick to the low carb wet food like Fancy Feast, give the AB for the infections, and start home testing. Looking for a better vet is a good idea as well.
 
Clavamox is commonly prescribed. Old yes. Also tried and true for many things.

All antibiotics may cause stomach upset. A bit of plain yogurt with active cultures a couple hours after the Clavamox may help restore the good bacteria which get killed off by broad spectrum antibiotics and reduce stomach and intestinal upset. Forti Flora will do that too and is available online or possibly from your vet.
 
Definitely pick up a meter and you will know for sure what's going on with her blood glucose... Here is a shopping list..

Getting started shopping list
1. Meter ie Walmart Relion or arkray
2. Matching strips
3. Lancets - little sticks to poke the ear to get blood . new members usually start with a larger gauge lancet such as 28g or 29g until the ear learns to bleed. Optional - lancing tool.
4. Cotton balls to stem the blood
5. Neosporin ointment to heal the wound
6. Ketone urine test strips ie Ketostix or ketodiastix - Important to check ketones when blood is high

Thank you Kat and everyone else. You all are wonderful, and it is shocking to me that there is that great free website helping cat owners. Their is so much garbage on the internet, this is truly a blessing and a breath of fresh air.
