Hello all,
My sugar cat Maahes, and his 3 civvy brothers aren't really eating. They have a 50/50 mix of dry food (nature's variety chicken and Wysong Epigen) to snack on throughout the day (as I'm transitioning the sugar cat to Wysong) and they get canned food for breakfast and dinner.
Except, they aren't eating their canned food at all. They lick up the gravy, maybe take a bite or two, but then leave it alone. The dry food doesn't look like it's being touched at all either. I've even thrown out the food in the dishes and got new dishes and everything. Still no change. This has been going on for about 5 days now.
All the cats seem to be doing okay. They are pooping, purring, playing, grooming, and sleeping as normal, but it's just weird. Normally I'm filling up the food dish every morning and night, and I've NEVER EVER seen them not scarf down the canned food. No one seems to be in pain. Tried looking at teeth, but got clawed for my trouble.
The only thing I can think of is that the rule of scarcity is in effect: since I've stocked up on canned food and they know it, (10 cents off per can at Petsmart, and local coupon matching holla!) , they no longer think they need to scarf down canned food.
Just worried. Any ideas before I blow up the vets phone and make them laugh at me over nothing?
