Should diabetic cats have catnip at all? My cat Hal just vomited up catnip after eating it 5 mins before. confused_cat

Mine has it with no issues all the time....

It could be a coincidence with timing for a hairball.
If it happens repeatedly, then I would say the catnip is a problem for your kitty.

My cats sometimes use catnip to help them vomit up hairballs, the same as they would/do for grass when they get it. I also use it regularly because I believe the fiber is good for them.

Mine too - it helps them bring up hairballs sometimes. Mostly though they just sniff and eat and are fine. If anything it should reduce the blood sugar and help diabetes by reducing stress!
