I'm sorry Malcolm dropped out of remission, but you know the drill and there may be a chance for remission again. Would you please amend your signature so that we can see what kind of insulin, the dosage, what testing meter you are using, what kind of food, etc:
cat's name,
date of Dx (diagnosis)
insulin, what dosage
meter
any other pertinent issues like if there are any food issues, history of DKA, hepatic lipidosis, pancreatitis, allergies, IBD, etc.

Also, here is the link to the spreadsheet so you can get that going and track insulin shots, and BG tests:

You might try making a soup of his favorite wet food, warming it a little, and letting him lick off a spoon to get him interested. We use baby food meat (no seasonings at all) for Idjit when he is not feeling well, I just mix it down to a soup, and it has not failed us yet. If it was Idjit, I would not inject insulin if he isn't eating. Are you testing yet to see what the blood sugar level is? and so that you can monitor when you do start the injections?
