Hello everyone! Sorry for the long rambling ahead!
It has been a while and thank you so much to all the lovely people who helped and provided advice! Bee has made a lovely recovery and wouldn't have gotten to remission without everyone here. The year ended kind of bad for Bee as he had to get his nail completely removed as it kept getting irritated/splitting opened and bleeding but it's healing well!
I just came on to ask for advice, I've been counting calories/trying to maintain the same portion for him/his siblings but I've noticed a slight weight gain? He has gained 1.5LBS/0.68KG from his ideal weight of 13-14LBS (5.90KG/6.35KG), I've weighed him at the beginning of the month + today. His siblings pretty much have maintained their weight (even gaining a little weight back about 0.4LB).
I think it might be due to the Dr. Elsy's kibble being so high in calories but even with that I make sure to measure/give less as it's only a small lunch meal to tide them over until dinner. His appetite has always been huge pre-diabetic + now. Is this something I should be concern about/switch kibbles?
Also he had his dental examination at the start of the month and his vet said his teeth looked pretty healthy except for slight plaque build up at the back of his mouth (both sides). He has finally started letting me brush his teeth with minimal struggles and I do it once at least 5x time a week when time allows it and have noticed a huge difference already. My only concern is that Virbac toothpaste contain sugar/sorbitol in it (there doesn't seem to be any effect on his blood sugar), I tried looking up other brands but was wondering if anyone has suggestion on other products/toothpaste?
ETA: we also play for about 10-15 a day when I'm home or before work, his blood sugar I try to test at least once a day (I also started using cat nip with him too to help entice him to play more/monitoring it effect on his blood sugar) and I'm not noticing any alarming numbers he is steadily in the 60s-70s usually.
