Lisa, are you doing a sort of sliding scale between .6 and .8? I think you are getting nice nadirs on .8. When you will be around to monitor, I would be tempted to try the .8 when he is anywhere over 200 and see if he likes the lower nadirs (after his customary bounce of course....). What do you think?

When I was doing 0.8 consistently, he was getting really low. I tried reducing to 0.6, but that didn't seem to be enough. So, right now I'm doing 0.6u in the morning (when he's usually lower) and 0.8u in the evening. This has been working fairly well, but he bounced yesterday on the morning dose and went low on the evening dose, so I'm not surprised he's kind of shallow today.

I may need to go back to 0.8u consistently again. I'm waiting to see if this clears in the next day before I decide.

Or a fat .6? I just wonder if you would push a little, feeding those low nadirs, if it would push him into lower numbers overall (and possibly OTJ -anti jinx) I know your schedule is difficult, Lisa, and at some point, you may just decide he has a quality regulated life and that is where you want to stay. It's just that he seems so close to a breakthrough.

Pmps 323, 0.8u (+12)

Ugh. He's being iffy, and it's annoying. Looks good then goes back up. I've got another week before school starts officially. We'll try pushing & see if it helps. 0.8 enough, or should we go back to 1?

I think .8? And push through even if you get green nadirs - just feed them as long as they aren't below 40. If that doesn't look good enough after 2 cycles, maybe up to one unit but monitor carefully?

+5 269

Shooting early because Benny.s not supposed to eat after 8. (chest xray for possible heart gallop)

Benny's home (& eating). Nothing visible on xray, referred to vet school for echo cardiogram because xray may not catch enlarged heart muscle.

Cassie's looking great! Glad to hear Ben is doing okay... nice of them to tell you the Echo will show more - after they've done it & charged you, right? ;-) Look at those GREENS!!! Woo hoo!!!

To be fair, he did mention the echo earlier as an "if you're still worried" option. But somewhere between that conversation & today it became "here's what.has to be.next". The xrays weren't super expensive; dunno about the echo.

Need to get Cass.s teeth looked at too (no obvious issues with.him) so I'll probably get to do this again. The vet school.said he had a heart murmur last year.

I like the greens too, I just wish he'd quit.bouncing. I thought he'd settled but then things went wonky.

Lisa,
Do you think maybe his nadir might have shifted, and maybe the +6 isn't his low sometimes? That might explain the bounces too.

I know it moves-the mornings he's so low I'm pretty sure his nadir is after +6.
