Cashew's SS updated with US units, please take a look

Hi again,
I was able to update the spreadsheet so it shows his bg levels in mg/dl units. I have also added a 2nd tab with the world units JUST in case someone wants to take a look. it is nowhere close to as organized as the first tab - i promise to do this next round i get some free time.

Just a pointer i had been making a point of coming home early all this week but was 45 min late today. According to my family Cashew was very vocal about being fed and they got worried because his paws felt cold, otherwise he was fine (i.e. oriented, alert). His PMPS was pretty high at 367 mg/dl (20.4 mmol/L) and he had used his litter box less than he usually does...He gets kind of quiet after his insulin shot sometimes (I feel like he is on drugs, I don't like this one bit) buit I try to engage him even if it is looking out a window together.

I speak with his vet tomorrow to see what she says and would LOVE for your feedback. PLEASE educate me in this, I am going to slowly switch his diet to raw food and will be needing further guidance. In the meantime I have been checking out the food chart on FDMB and am thinking of trying Fancy Feast...

looking forward to getting some feedback ...

ciao ciao

Looks good Nida.
You should rename the ss and call it Cashews ss but ither than that, very good job.
We have been using Fancy Feast but there are many others to chose from.
Just to buy too many at one time because what Cashew likes today, he might not like tomorrow.
The benefits of being a cat.

thank you randi!
i don't know how to rename *gulp* I looked around the forum, tech support etc but didn't see anything. O well, as long as the link is working (sorry, I am an ancient person).

Under the google heading click on "File" then "rename" and box should pop up and you can change the name.
It's not a biggy but it might be helpful when others start looking at it.

Very good job!
Another Canadian, how nice.

Great job getting the SS put together AND renamed!!

We will probably bug the heck out of you to try to get more spot checks. If you can work one in before you're out the door to work and if you're home before PMPS, try to get a test in. Do the best you can to get at minimum a before bed test every night. And, the days you're not working will be important in terms of getting a curve or additional testing. The best way to make decisions about dosing are based on data. Since it sounds like there are other people at home, is there anyone who would be willing to lend a hand and learn how to test?

I feed primarily a raw diet that I supplement with FF as snacks.(My guys aren't very fond of Wellness or EVO.) I use a pre-mix from Feline Future that contains all of the necessary nutritional supplements. I grind my own chicken -- although I don't grind bone and I use the variety of pre-mix that contains bone meal. You might want to try some of the commercial varieties of raw food to see if Cashew likes raw. Feline's Pride is excellent. The shipping will drive up the cost but if it's for a trial run, it's not too bad.

Thank you Sienna and Randi,

I thought I changed the name but when I returned to the forum it didn't show this change so I left it :S

I did do another check before bed time and he was at 19.8 mmol/L or 356 mg/dl...same thing again this morning around the same number.

I don't know I guess he needs more time (??)...I ordered some of the future feline powder mix and am going to try and get him on that. I will need help with proportions tho, how much do I feed him? He is not really overweight, just over 11 lbs...And if I get FF how much of that do I want to feed him eventually? He is fed twice a day.

...there is no one at home that feels the confidence or desire to be so dedicated with him. I'd be lucky if I got someone to clean out his litterbox in between AMPS and PMPS...*don't even get me started*

Anyway, I think I am just down but should be happy that his levels are not erratic at least and remain consistent (somewhat??)

adios amigos
