Cartilage build up on ears

Does anyone else have the issue of cartilage build up on the ears? It's getting more difficult to check glucose. There's build up of hard bumps on both ears. What do I do??? I feel so bad.
 
I say you are seeing scar tissue. Sometimes holding the are with cotton pad or tissue after taking sample reduces scarring. Also, I have had some cats develop scarring while others have not..
Are you rotating areas of the ear?

Yes, I rotate. Sometimes I have to poke a few times as I get no blood. But after a year of doing it she has a lot of build up and I am a bit worried about it
 
I do alternate ears. But the build up is quite a bit on both ears. I will see if I can press the cotton on the ears a little bit longer. It's just getting harder to get a sample and I have to poke her more and more.
