Wanted to give it a couple weeks to make sure but after 2 1/2 weeks I'm gonna call it.... A Remission
Lantus: Started out with 2u twice a day, (numbers were at 650 when she started) the up to 3u for a month (around 450)
earlier last month she had a near hypo episode, so we reduced her to 1u, the next week numbers were still low so 1/2u twice a day, 2wks ago her numbers were only in the 60's for the high of the day so we took her off totally. After 2.5wks and random testing her range is anywhere from 80-110 depending on the time of day, after food, mid day etc.
What does she eat? We have 4 cats so changing one was just not possible.
We switched from Friskies wet/dry to Blue Wilderness Dry food throughout the day and they get Blue wilderness wet in the mornings and Carol gets 1/4 can at night (keeps her eating more wet and less dry that way) If you ever want an eye opening experience, research what Poultry Bi-Procut and Meat Bi-Product are, you'll never want to feed your cat anything with them in there. Blue is free of that and smells like deviled ham hahaha
Not to bad for price as Petco always has coupons out and our local one does "Opps" sales marking down bags that are going to expire int he next month.
Will continue to check her every few wks here to see , lets hope it sticks! (Hers was cause by being overweight, 22lbs, now she is at 15lobs)
This is carol smelling her favorite potpourri
